Enugu Governor Lauds Tinubu’s Bold Economic Moves, Cites Boost in Development
Enugu Governor Peter Mbah has commended President Bola Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidies and exchange rate unification, saying the reforms have boosted state finances and enabled major development projects, including 7,000 new smart classrooms.

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for implementing key economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of Nigeria’s exchange rates.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new CNG bus terminal in Enugu on Thursday, Mbah described the policies as bold moves that have significantly improved state revenues and created room for large-scale development projects.
He noted that before these changes, many states struggled to pay workers’ salaries and had limited funds for capital investments. “Today, we are not just paying salaries but also executing massive projects,” Mbah said.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives in Enugu, the governor revealed that the state is constructing 7,000 modern classrooms, each equipped with advanced learning tools such as robotics labs, artificial intelligence centres, CGI studios, and virtual reality facilities.
Mbah also expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for concessioning the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, pledging full support for Tinubu’s administration.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who commissioned several federal projects in the state, praised Mbah for aligning with the national vision. He said Tinubu’s reforms were already producing positive results, moving Nigeria closer to the $1 trillion economy target.
Idris described Enugu as a key state in the South-East and emphasised that continued cooperation between federal and state governments would accele
rate progress.
