Ethiopian Airlines to Add Extra Evening Flights on Abuja Route from October 28

Ethiopian Airlines will expand its Abuja service from October 28, introducing three weekly evening flights at 10 p.m. in addition to the daily midday flight. Passengers will enjoy faster connections, extra baggage allowances (for select destinations), and double mileage rewards. The move comes as Abuja grows into a hub for global conferences and tourism.

Ethiopian Airlines has announced plans to expand its Abuja operations with additional flights starting October 28.

The airline’s Nigeria Area Manager, Mrs. Firiehiwot Mekonnen, revealed in Abuja on Wednesday that three evening flights will be introduced weekly, complementing the existing daily midday service.

She explained that the new evening departures, scheduled for 10 p.m. (ET 957) from Abuja and arriving in Addis Ababa at 5 a.m., will give travelers more flexibility and quicker connections to several African and Asian destinations, including Dubai, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Madras, Tel Aviv, São Paulo, and others.

“Beyond just extra flights, passengers will enjoy additional benefits such as increased baggage allowance and double mileage points,” Mekonnen noted. She added that the extra baggage privilege will apply specifically to routes heading to India and Dubai.

According to her, Abuja is becoming a hub for international meetings and tourism activities, especially with the reopening of the Abuja International Conference Centre and other world-class hospitality facilities.

“With Abuja attracting more global conferences and businesses, Ethiopian Airlines is stepping up to meet the growing travel demand by expanding options for our passengers,”

she added.
