Lookman Turns Down Arsenal Interest, Holds Out for Inter Milan Move

Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman is reportedly refusing a move to Premier League giants Arsenal, instead remaining focused on securing a transfer to Inter Milan in Italy’s Serie A.

The 27-year-old winger is currently in a standoff with his club, Atalanta, over their refusal to approve the switch. Lookman has not reported for the club’s pre-season training camp as preparations for the upcoming season continue.

Atalanta, winners of the 2024 UEFA Europa League, have already rejected two offers from Inter. The Bergamo side are standing firm on their €50 million valuation, which has reportedly angered the Nigerian forward.

While Atalanta are hoping for bids from clubs outside Italy to maximise profit, Lookman is said to have no interest in considering other destinations at the moment. Reports from Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews suggest that the player already has a full agreement in place with Inter and has been set on the move for some time.

The same reports indicate that Inter are not pursuing other attacking signings, partly to keep Lookman motivated and to ward off potential rival interest. Inter boss Cristian Chivu is understood to have made Lookman his top target and is even willing to adjust the team’s formation to accommodate him.

Meanwhile, Atalanta are preparing legal action after Lookman allegedly left Italy without permission and skipped training in protest against the club blocking Inter’s latest offer. The player is said to be on an unauthorised holiday, with the club’s owners, the Percassi family, considering fines for what they deem unacceptab

le conduct.
